Planning in a Pandemic :: Micro Weddings

Events might be smaller...but that doesn't mean they have to be any less fabulous!

Added Touch recently had the honor of being apart of two May 2020 wedding days - WHAT! We feel like we haven't heard good news like that in a minute?!

While at the moment a traditional 150+ guest wedding is off the table - saying "I do" certainly is not! You can still have a dreamy, ultra-lux "micro wedding" - a hot term since COVID-19 sidetracked so many couples' wedding plans.

Though tiny in guest count - these events are huge in meaning. With only immediate family and super-close friends around on your wedding day, every minute is packed full of love and moments of joy with those who care about you the most. Plus, while a micro wedding can save you money, many couples are turning it into a macro experience by spending their full budget, only on less people - and adding on all the luxurious "upgrades" that they might not have been able to afford for 100's of guests. From salmon to sea bass, burgers to lamb chops, hydrangeas to peonies, couples who opt for a micro wedding are able to now more than ever have the wedding of their dreams. Keep on reading to check out the micro weddings of Alex & Leslie | May 23, 2020 and Terri & David | May 30, 2020 which we had the pleasure of helping create!

"Added Touch" Guide to a COVID-friendly Micro Wedding

Now that you know your big day does not have to be foiled just because of ‘rona – we’ve got your back! These are the safeguards we at Added Touch have put into works at some recent events to give our clients & their guests the peace of mind to have a good time!

no. 1 | Keep it Outdoors

Right now, events at home are the way to go! Whether in your backyard, front yard, or even your driveway, we keep the tables spread out & fresh air flowing.

no. 2 | Hand Wash Station

We greet our guests with a traveling hand wash station complete with wipes to even sanitize your phones!

no. 3 | Contained Passed Apps

Keeping it clean. All of our passed appetizers are now packaged in their own chic container to keep the germs away!

no. 4 | Branded Dinner Box + Screened Stations + Seated Served

While overflowing open-air buffets are the way of the past – you can still offer your guests a delicious gourmet meal to take home for those guests who are trying to maintain their distance. Have your heart set on a beautiful buffet? We now offer them behind a beautifully designed plexiglass screen (imagine a sneeze guard on steroids!). Of course, there is always the classic seated served plated meal covered with a silver dome to keep it ultra fresh & hot.

no. 5 | Healthy Swag Bag

Mask ? Gloves ? Hand sanitizer ? Anything your guests need, we’ve got you covered (literally!) with gift bags packed with COVID-fighting goodies. Take it a step farther and order branded facemasks & personalized hand sanitizers with your event monogram or logo!

Alex & Leslie | May 23, 2020

Our first micro wedding was Leslie + Alex's - which was held at the groom's aunt & uncle's front yard. Below you will see how we helped create a beautiful ceremony set up, while encouraging guests to be socially distant.

Leslie and Alex had guests come for a cocktail hour that consisted of individually wrapped truffle fries, mini beef sliders and mini grilled cheeses passed by our servers wearing PPE.

Having dined on appetizers and a fully stocked bar replete with a variety of craft canned cocktails like those from our friends at Tip Top, guests were invited for the ceremony which was followed by champagne toasts and incredible speeches. To allow those guests who wanted to maintain their distance and keep their attendance short, the bride and groom then went on to cut the cake, and guests were offered a delicious boxed, branded dinner to take home (cooked & packaged by yours truly, of course!)

In the custom boxed dinners guests enjoyed delicious Mediterranean Chicken Breasts with an Artichoke Lemon Caper Sauce, Blended Israeli Couscous, Chopped Israeli Salad, Mini Grilled Vegetable Stacks with Balsamic Reduction and Basil Chiffonade, and Fresh Pita with Hummus.

Cheers to Leslie + Alex, we were ecstatic to be a part of your "micro wedding"!

Terri & David | May 31, 2020

Like many other couples, the future Mrs. & Mr. Mann were torn on how to handle celebrating their marriage during a pandemic. While Terri & David had planned to have their wedding at one of our favorite venues in the city, the iconic Atlanta History Center, due to elderly family members, they opted to move forward with a "micro wedding" on their original wedding date and plan to have a large "sequel wedding" celebration in the months to come.

Even though it was not what they initially planned, the bridge and groom found peace in knowing they would get not only one celebration, but now two! Plus, with the power of Zoom, all of their other friends and family were able to tune in and be apart of their nuptials from afar.

The Mann's "socially distant" wedding comprised of ceremony chairs s

paced 6 ft. from each other and individually bagged dinners for guests to take to-go. Guests were greeted with a hand washing station upon arrival, where they could sanitize their hands and have their temperature checked by an Added Touch attendant.

Cheers to the Mann's + we can't wait to be apart of your vow renewal this September!
